Adventures for Active Travelers

Our Adventure Ships offer itineraries that take active travelers to quiet bays and rocky shorelines inaccessible to larger expedition vessels. In the Arctic, you have a choice of three vessels - Akademik Shokalskiy, Akademik Sergey Vavilov, or Akademik Ioffe. In the Antarctic, Quark operates one additional Adventure Ship, Ocean Nova.

All Adventure Ships are equipped with a fleet of Zodiac landing craft, which are used for shore transfers and for ocean-level expedition cruising.

For an extra rush of adrenalin, adventure options such as kayaking, camping, cross-country skiing and mountaineering are offered on select departures.
