Day 3-5

Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas)

En route, an in-depth, illustrated education program examines the flora and fauna that you will encounter. In the Falklands (Malvinas), you stroll through tussock grass where Kelp Geese graze and visit a Rockhopper Penguin rookery. You'll stop for tea with a local family before departing for South Georgia.

Day 6-11

Southern Ocean and South Georgia

South Georgia is synonymous with Sir Ernest Shackleton's rescue of the crew of Endurance. Your exploration includes a visit to his gravesite, a chapel and museum that depict how life was lived in this sheltered cove until it was abandoned in 1966. There will be visits to King Penguin rookeries and Zodiac cruises past beaches where elephant seal bulls protect their harems.

Day 12-17

South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula

The names that conjure iconic images of the Peninsula - Deception Island, Lemaire Channel, Neko Harbour, Paradise Bay, Gerlache Strait - are on our list of possible shore landings as we explore. You'll visit penguin colonies, listen for calving glaciers and visit historic sites or research stations.

Day 18-20

The Drake Passage to Ushuaia

No matter what condition you find the Drake, thsi second crossing is a fitting end to the adventure.
