Baffin Island, Canada - The fifth largest island in the world, it may be ‘Helluland’ from the Saga of Erik the Red.
Davis Strait - Named for the English explorer John Davis, who explored the area while seeking a Northwest Passage.
Eqip Sermia - The glacier’s edge is a breeding ground for icebergs that continually calve into the cold waters.
Ilulissat - Greenlandic for "the icebergs," it is the third largest settlement in Greenland.
Itilleq - Having no freshwater, this island makes use of a facility for forming freshwater from seawater.
Kangerlussuaq - Located at the head of a long fjord, the area is home to many muskoxen, caribou and gyrfalcons.
Uummannaaq - Uummannaq is Greenlandic for "heart-shaped," the form of the giant mountain that overlooks the town.
