Day 11-15

Eastern Greenland

Wilder, more rugged and often icebound, the eastern coastline of Greenland is the habitat of walrus, four species of seals and the polar bears that live there. Patience, perseverance and a long lens may result in once-in-a-lifetime photographs to share with family and friends.

Northeast Greenland National Park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve larger than the state of Texas. Forty-percent of the world's population of musk oxen are believed to live within the park boundaries.

As we sail south, the icebreaker will explore King Oscar Fjord and Scoresby Sund. Kapitan Khlebnikov is the only expedition ship equipped with helicopters for flight-seeing to visit the picturesque fjords.
