Antarctica in depth with Jenny of RTWin30Days

We asked travel blogger Jenny McIver of RTWin30Days.com if she’d mind sharing some thoughts on her recent Antarctic voyage with Quark Expeditions. She came back with this enthusiastic, thorough and inspiring take on her expedition! Thanks Jenny!   “You’re going where? Seriously, Jenny, have you really run out of places to go? What on earth is there to see in Antarctica, anyway? Isn’t it just a bunch of icebergs and penguins?” These [...]

Snow and Ice in Neko Harbour

On a recent Antarctic voyage, we spent a few hours one morning in Neko Harbour, which quickly became my favourite spot on our trip. Between the curious Gentoo penguin chicks, the occasional, thundering sound of glaciers calving, and the spectacular scenery, I could have happily sat there all day long.  I was particularly struck by the formations in the snow and ice around the harbour and soon filled quite a [...]

All about the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators

While researching travel to the Antarctic, you’ve probably come across the name “IAATO” (International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators) a number of times.  We asked Dr. Kim Crosbie, Operations Director for IAATO to answer a few questions for us about what exactly IAATO  is and why it’s so important.
