Stanley is a Wildlife Paradise

10 March 2009 We’ve had smooth sailing and fine weather for the remainder of our voyage. Yesterday afternoon we arrived in Stanley Harbour, East Falkland. Most of us headed out of town for an hour or two to Gypsy Cove to see the moulting Magellanic Penguins and the gorgeous white sand beaches and turqoise waters. Along the way a number of rusting hulks can be seen, leftovers from a bygone era when ships called in to Stanley for repairs after rounding the Horn.
