We had to be very careful not to disturb this fellow and cause him to expend extra energy. Best buddies

This is a pair of Gentoo penguins.  Their white cap, black & orange beak, long tail and pinkish toned feet stand out against the rocky shores of the Antarctic Peninsula.  Despite their awkward waddle on land, they are very quick in the water.  If you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of some swimming behind you during your Zodiac Cruise.  Photo taken in Dec. 2012, by a Quark Passenger.
