Day 4 (July 20, 2010) - Yes! No Wake Up Call Today. We set sail last night for Greenland and today was the first of 2-3 day crossing of the Greenland Sea. A lecture on polar bears and presentations on the birds of Svalbard are scheduled today for those not affected by the rough seas we are experiencing. I am told this is nothing compared to the Drake!
This afternoon, a documentary called “Extreme Ice” is being played in the lecture room. It was good to get out of my cabin on Deck 5 and experience that. Plus the lower the deck, the less movement you experience. As I have never - yes never - sailed before, this was an interesting day getting used to the sea.
