Scoresbysund - Icebergs and Awe

By Blog.Admin

Day 6 (July 22, 2010) - Third day at sea, and the winds and seas have calmed a little. This morning’s presentation by Theresa is on Arctic Plants followed by a documentary called “Vision Man” which I really enjoyed. This afternoon we hope to see our first sights of the coast of Greenland and Kap Hoegh. But I don’t know it’s pretty foggy out there. It’s now late in the afternoon and we were not able to scout the coast of Liverpool Land as the weather conditions are not favorable.

I woke up in the middle of the night, approx 1130PM, and went to the bridge as outside my window I could see huge, colossal icebergs riddled around the ship at the entrance to Scoresby Sund. On the Bridge was myself and another passenger Bill, and for the next couple of hours we just stared in awe and took many pictures.
