So few voyages, so little time!

Khlebnikov off Cape HallettWe had a call last night from someone on the waiting list to participate in our Epic Antarctica voyage this winter. She was so far down the list, she despaired of getting aboard. So she had looked at our Ross Sea Centennial Antarctic cruise. Her call was to learn whether her Antarctic dreams would be fulfilled if she booked passage on the Ross Sea. She had seen that that voyage had extremely limited availability.

As this is the place to learn the latest about End of an Era expedition voyages to the Arctic and Antarctica, I' m sharing the answer to her question. Epic Antarctic is a semi-circumnavigation of the continent that visits the Ross Sea towards the end of the voyage. The Ross Sea Centennial voyage sole purpose is to explore the Ross Sea and visit historic sites synonymous with Antarctic exploration. So the simplest answer is that you want to see a great deal of the continent, Epic Antarctica is the one to pick. But if you want to immerse yourself in the history of polar exploration, see Emperor Penguins, orcas and research stations then the Ross Sea expedition is a must. Nigel Watson will be the special guest on board. He manages New Zealands' Anarctic Heritage Trust, the organization responsible for the care and preservation of the historic huts in the Ross Sea sector of Antarctica. You'll be traveling with an insider, who will be eager to share his knowledge. Could you ask for more?
