Steeple Jason

Yesterday, our day at sea ended with a showing of sing-along Mamma Mia, served with popcorn. The popcorn was a clever trick to encourage reluctant singers like me to attend. The well-attended event was enhanced by 10 degree rolls of the icebreaker. No injuries occurred, with exception of the shredding of our collective dignity! Today we should have a landing on Steeple Jason, in the Falklands (Malvinas). According to Tony Marr, landing on SJ is a rare opportunity. An extraordinary number of albatross breed on the island. So it looks like we are about to get up close and personal with tubenoses.

As I write this, I can see a blue sky through my open cabin window. The breeze blowing through is much warmer than those we experienced in Antarctica. My fingers are crossed in hopes that the weather will hold.
