Nicola first traveled to the Antarctic in 2009 with Quark Expeditions. Since then, she has completed dozens of voyages to the southern continent and the Arctic, including nine trips to the North Pole. Her practical experience and engaging approach enhances the guest experience both on the ship and in the Zodiac.
Nicola’s career on the ocean began back in 2003, around southern Vancouver Island, Canada. She has worked as a marine naturalist and spent eight glorious summers observing the world-famous southern resident orcas. In the off-season, Nicola has volunteered as a marine mammal observer for conservation groups. When not on the ships, she can be found at home with her furry canine friends in Vancouver Island’s beautiful Comox Valley.
