Scott McCormack, otherwise known as Scotty Mack, is a wilderness guide, outdoor educator, and musician. He holds a Master of Environmental Studies (MES) from York University; a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Outdoor and Experiential Education from Queens University, and a B.A from Dalhousie University. His most recent research explores human/nature relationships, ecological identity, and how indigenous technology mediates the experience of a place. He has worked as a sea kayak guide for over 12 years in Canada from Newfoundland to British Coloumbia, as well as with Quark Expeditions from the Arctic to the Antarctic. After over a decade of working as a sea kayak guide for commercial outfitters, Outward Bound Canada, and adjudicated wilderness programmes for Youth, Scotty has started his own sea kayking company, Cape LaHave Adventures in his homeland of coastal Nova Scotia. When he isn't on the open ocean paddling and guiding you might find him playing some tunes with his band 'More Please!'.
