Ornithologist & Marine Biologist
Shanti is an experienced field biologist, who has been following her passion for wildlife and Polar Regions for the decade. She has recently completed a M.Sc. in Biology, researching the behavioural ecology of a poorly studied Arctic gull breeding in the Canadian High Arctic. Shanti has extensive hands-on experience in many remote areas of the Arctic and Antarctic, from Alaskan islands in the Bering Sea, to Arctic Norway, and has visited Antarctica many times over 3 seasons with Quark Expeditions. She has also worked as an educator at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre on Vancouver Island, teaching an outdoor marine biology program to students of all ages.
