Quark Expeditions Joins The TUI Travel PLC Group of Companies

Darien, CT (May 1, 2007) - Patrick Shaw, President of Quark Expeditions, is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Company by UK-based The TUI Travel PLC Group of Companies. Today, Quark Expeditions joins TUI's Activity Holidays Sector, a growing international collection of adventure travel businesses.

When making the announcement, Mr. Shaw paid tribute to exiting Chairman Lars Wikander. Mr. Wikander, co-founder of Quark Expeditions, was Chairman of the Board and the Company's majority shareholder until the acquisition by TUI. "Lars' vision will continue to inspire us," stated Mr. Shaw. "We will honor his legacy by continuing to manage the Company with passion, integrity, and hard work, the values he has instilled in all of us."
