John Weller

John B Weller, Photographer, Author, Conservationist.

John will be photographer-in-residence during two of our expeditions to the North Pole. He is an experienced workshop leader, who enjoys teaching the secrets of digital photography.

John's book Great Sand Dunes National Park: Between Light and Shadow, published in 2004, won the 2004 "Best Book Mountain Image Award" at the Banff Book Festival. John's photography wins awards as well, including the 2005 Galen Rowell Tribute Photography Award.

John studied photography under William Neill in Yosemite National Park. He has had 14 one-man shows and is represented by galleries in California and Colorado. A graduate of Stanford University, John is based in Boulder, Colorado.

John has turned his attention to Antarctica's Ross Sea, sailing with Quark Expeditions from Ushuaia, Argentina to Australia, via the Phantom Coast. We are pleased that he has agreed to share his talents and stories with our guests traveling to the North Pole.
