Quark & the Polar Environment

The Arctic and Antarctica have most fragile environments on the planet. They are highly susceptible to damage from global climate change and human activity. In the Arctic, glaciers and sea ice are melting. While in Antarctica, surface waters have warmed, precipitation has increased and ice shelves are retreating at an alarming rate.

Quark Expeditions is profoundly committed to environmentally responsible tourism. We do everything we can to lighten our ecological footprint. We work to reduce and minimize our carbon emissions. We raise funds for the protection of polar wildlife. We educate our travelers, before they board, during the expedition, and, here, on our web site.
