Neila Lamb, Assistant to the President
Neila hails from small town Ontario. Aside from school trips, she didn't really become familiar with the joys of travel until the age of 18, when she took the bus from Toronto to Atlantic City to visit a distant relative. Although the experience was only mildly glamorous and culturally enriching, it was in making this trip that her passion for travel was established.
Since completing her liberal arts degree at York University in Toronto in 1997, Neila has lived and worked in London, England; and while working as an Administrative Assistant, she has been very fortunate to have had many enriching holidays in the US, UK, Europe, India, Nepal and New Zealand.
In the early summer of 2004, Neila was fortuitously introduced to some executives at Quark Expeditions. This was just at the time that Quark's Toronto office was being established, and the company was looking for an Executive Assistant / Office Manager. She knew that this had the potential to be a desk job like no other, and that it would be a challenging and exciting opportunity. She couldn't wait to meet the Quark staff around the world, and to learn more about the business of polar travel. She soon realized that she was surrounded by fascinating, committed, kind and fun people, and that she had, in a sense, 'come home'. She couldn't believe her luck.
In March of 2007, Neila traveled to Antarctica aboard Professor Multanovskiy. Despite having been regaled with reports, images and tales of the high seas during her time with Quark, the experience was no less than mind-blowing and life-altering. She has now had the full Quark experience, and is even more enamored with what we do.
Next stop: Greenland.
