Jill received her BSc. degree in Geography from the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. In British Columbia, she is actively involved in ecotourism, managing ridged-hull Zodiacs. When she is not on a Quark Expeditions vessel as Expedition Leader, Jill works as Marine Biologist and Naturalist on Vancouver Island. She completing an advanced course on Marine Emergency Duties as well as Transport Canada's Skipper Training Course for Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats.

Jill is a member of the Spitsbergen Explorer and Spitsbergen, Eastern Greenland, Iceland expeditions in the boreal summer of 2008.
