Santiago Head Start
In addition to a tour of the national capital, Santiago Head Start includes a day-long excursion to Viña del mar – Chile’s Garden City by the sea, and historic Valparaiso. Your driver will follow Casablanca Valley to Chile’s best known seaside resort. Valparaiso, a port founded in the 16th century, is a short drive from Viña del mar. The old town has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Included are:
- 2 nights of hotel of accommodation at the Santiago Park Plaza Hotel, with breakfast.
- Transfer from the airport to the hotel.
- 8 hour excursion to Viña del mar and Valparaiso, with private transportation.
- A 3 1⁄2 hour tour of the city that includes visits to the Palacio de la moneda, the Plaza de Armas, the Parque Forestal and the bohemian quarter – bellavista. The tour ends with a visit to Los Graneros del Alba, a village known for its crafts.
- As part of the city tour, three of Chile’s premier museums visits are included: Museo historico nacional – the history of Chile from the arrival of Europeans to the present; Museo nacional de Bellas Artes – South America’s oldest museum of Fine Art; and, Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombio – pre-Hispanic art some dating back 3,000 years.
