Polar Voyages

Photos, Videos and Cartoons

Our expeditions are a photographer's delight, delivering a myriad of photo opportunities. From our decks, or ashore photographers will find unique vistas that provide artistic challenges.

Filmmakers are inspired by our expeditions too. During 2009, a BBC film crew will be aboard our vessels filming a documentary. You can watch our own recent video guide productions as well - Emperor Penguins and Explorers Route.

In December 2008, Victoria Times-Colonist editorial cartoonist Adrian Raeside set out on an icebreaker for the final leg of research into Robert Scott’s expedition to the South Pole, following the path taken by his grandfather Sir Charles Wright, who was on Scott’s team. Read his account, Following in his ancestors' frozen footsteps.

Earlier in 2008, another cartoonist, Luciano Pires, from Brazil came aboard, and has kindly allowed us to put a series of cartoons he drew aboard 50 Years of Victory on our site.
