Dave Blancard
Dave, Head of Information Technology, is responsible for all computer and communication systems for Quark Expeditions. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the computer and communications technology fields. He has spent more than 20 years in the travel industry developing software, designing networks and systems, working on reservation and revenue management systems. He has sales and customer management systems experience as well as call center design and management experience.
What are you curious about in regards to the polar regions?
"Wildlife, exploration history, wildlife, geography...and did I mention wildlife?"
When did you travel to the Arctic?
"I sailed on Akademik Ioffe in the Canadian Arctic in August 2009."
Dave's advice for polar travelers.
"Go as often as you can, twice a year is recommended. Bring absurdly large amounts of film or storage for digital photos."
