Dan Olsen - Kayak Guide
After years as a mountain and kayak guide and Boat Captain in Alaska and Washington, Antarctica feels right at home. Dan has lived most of my life where the mountains meet the sea, and will forever be found in one or the other! I am a huge fan of wildlife, and have spent countless hours and days watching animals with a notebook in hand. He loves going new places and trying new things, and have performed guitar, juggling, improv comedy, and clowning, and love it all. My main passion, though, are the dialects of different Orca pods.

What skills do you bring to the job?
"Driving boats, looking for whales, juggling and Flamenco guitar."
If you could time travel which historic expedition would you join?
"Shackleton's...but not for the obvious reasons. I have spent hundreds of days on boats like the James Caird, and many more on glaciers. This combination is what draws me to places like South Georgia and Antarctica."
