Damien, also known as Damo, handles logistics. The Australian began working in Antarctica in 2008 as a Chef. He no longer works in the galley, as the amazing wildlife and scenery has captured his imagination.

If you could time travel what historic expedition would you join?

"In the Antarctic, Shackleton's great journey from Elephant Island to South Georgia in 1908 aboard the James Caird. It was the most amazing journey of survival to navigate 800 miles of the wildest seas to South Georgia. In the Arctic, it would be Hubert Wilkins flight across the Arctic in 1928."

 

Damien's advice for polar travelers.

"Read as much as you can about the exploration, human and natural history of the area you are going to visit before your journey begins."
