Vladimir Seliverstov

Vladimir was raised in a small Russian village just outside of Moscow.  He graduated from seaman’s school and began his career as a ship’s Bosun in 1994 working on passenger expedition vessels in the Arctic and Antarctica. He has done over 120 trips to Antarctica and spent 12 seasons here.

He is an avid photographer whose images have been featured in many magazines. In 2000, his photo exhibit of polar photographs that took place in Moscow won high praise.  He is currently writing stories to educate children about the wildlife of Antarctica.

Sliver's advice for polar travelers.

"When you try to take photographs in a Zodiac, kneel on the deck, and place your elbows on the pontoon. This will keep your camera steady and make sure you don't topple overboard."
