Tell us about your first trip to Antarctica.

"My first trip to Antarctica was in 2001 on the icebreaker Kapitan Dranytsyn, the sister ship of Kapitan Khlebnikov. I have since returned to travel on our ice-strengthened ships. With each visit I have uncovered new emotions and discoveries."

What skills or training do you bring to the job?

"After obtaining my Bachelor of Commerce degree, I completed my Chartered Accountancy designation with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Vancouver, Canada and London, England. My combined extensive experience in profit analysis in the transportation industry with operations management allows me to respond easily in the dynamic operating environment which is Quark."

Eric's advice for polar travelers.

"Bring your sense of wonder, and stop, look and listen."
