Zahran Ousmand - Polar Travel Coordinator

Because Zahran was born in the warm climate of Sri Lanka, polar adventure was the last thing on his mind when he entered the travel industry. But like many people before him, Zahran's eyes were opened to the beauty that the Arctic and Antarctica offer.

What skills or training do you bring to the job?

"I graduated from Centennial College's Travel and Tourism program. I am enrolled as a Canadian Travel Counsellor (CTC) as a junior member. I'm a hard worker and always eager to prove it."

What keeps you coming to work every day?

"There is no such thing as a "normal" work day in the travel industry. There is always a curve ball thrown. Either it is a cancelled flight or a problem with a guest's passport. It is challenging and rewarding at the same time!"

Zahran's advice to polar travelers

"It is better to be too hot and have something to take off, than too cold and have nothing to put on!"
