Doug Allan - Emmy Winning Cinematographer
Scottish documentary wildlife filmmaker Doug Allan specializes in shooting in polar regions above and below the ice, and with marine mammals all over the world. His work has earned him 4 Emmys and 3 BAFTA awards, two honorary doctorates and the Polar Medal from the Queen of England.
As a freelance wildlife cameraman he has worked on a string of high profile award-winning films and series including the BBC's highly acclaimed Life in the Freezer, The Blue Planet and Planet Earth. He has contributed extraordinary footage to the sequel to Planet Earth - Frozen Planet, which will be released by the BBC in 2011.
Doug has been to the ends of the Earth, Mount Everest and hundreds of places in between. He and his wife, wildlife photographer Sue Flood, will share behind-the-scene stories during this voyage.
