About Samantha McBeth

Expedition Coordinator
You may also see Samantha in the following role(s): French Expedition Guide and Expedition Guide

Samantha is a polar biologist and field researcher, naturalist and science communicator from Gatineau, Québec, in Canada. She holds a Master of Science in Northern Studies from Carleton University, where she focused on the social, political and environmental realities of remote northern regions. Strangely in love with cold oceans for such a landlocked childhood, she has been working on ships since 2014, and scuba diving and kayaking for even longer. When she can’t get herself to the sea or lost in wilderness, she’s sharing her experiences and passion for those incredible places, engaging folks young and old into protecting and enjoying nature. She is a strong believer that understanding and experiencing the environment is key to protecting it. Building the next generations of polar stewards will be a labour of hope, brought forth by love and respect for this planet we call home.

When not on Quark ships or in the Polar Regions, she enjoys baking fancy breads, beekeeping, and sticking her nose into Canadian natural conservation politics.

She can’t wait to share in your next adventure!
