Jake is in his element on the water. He started driving boats at age 5 and landed his first job at a marina by 13. At 16, he fulfilled his childhood dream job of driving the water taxi at his family cottage. Jake first left North America in university, when he participated in an exchange at Copenhagen Business School.
Two years later, he had visited all seven continents.
Since joining Quark’s Expedition team in 2010, Jake has participated in over 30 expeditions to the Polar Regions. He recently returned “to the field” after working full-time in Quark’s Toronto office for 6 years, where he participated in nearly every element of shore-side operations, from purchasing and logistics, to port call operations and bunkering, to expedition staff management. Outside of traveling, Jake’s hobbies include kiteboarding, sailing, piloting small aircraft, cross-country skiing, catching up with family and friends, and meeting new people along the way.
