About Justin Fisch

French Expedition Guide
You may also see Justin in the following role(s): Expedition Guide and Sea Kayak Guide
Justin is an adventurer originally from Nova Scotia, Canada. The son of a Cape Breton native and a Belgian immigrant, he holds three passports and never seems to figure out where he belongs. A global citizen, Justin is an avid absorber of languages, who speaks English and French, and has a professional proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese. He dabbles in Mandarin Chinese, to the chagrin of anyone who’s ever heard him butcher “你好” (ni hao/hello).

A lawyer by trade and an outdoor guide by passion, Justin has led backpacking expeditions on many continents, paddled canoes down Florida’s magical rivers and hiked Nicaragua's stunning volcanoes, among his favorite adventures. When not aboard ships, he practices as a lawyer in environment and energy law, and is passionate about the clean energy transition. Harnessing these passions, Justin formerly taught environmental law at the University of Ottawa.

Justin's most memorable polar expedition experiences are the unforgettable moments when guests sit in total silence, Zodiac engine off, enjoying the special company of whales in some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Polar Regions.

Justin loves watching guests slow down and take in the sights and sounds of the beautiful places we visit. If he could impart one piece of advice to all adventurers aboard, it would be to take mental photos and take as much time as possible to yourself.
