Polar Travel Adviser
I grew up in New Zealand, where I developed a passion to discover as much of the world as possible. Since then, I have explored over 40 countries, and I plan to visit more! Between my travels, I earned a BA in Sociology and obtained a great deal of experience in the world of adventure travel. I have been on the front lines with Quark Expeditions since 2009, helping prospective travelers decide which polar expedition best suits their needs, and I have also fit in a few polar expeditions of my own, including Antarctic Explorer, Antarctic Express: Fly the Drake, Arctic Watch Wilderness Lodge, Introduction to Spitsbergen: Polar Bear Safari, and the amazing North Pole: The Ultimate Arctic Adventure!
What is one of your favorite memories of the polar regions?
Standing at the top of the world at the North Pole, and flying above the 50 Years of Victory in the ship’s helicopter, watching the vessel break through meters-thick ice! There’s nothing else like it.
What advice would you give someone traveling to the polar regions?
Every corner of the Arctic and Antarctic holds something unique and different. Whether it’s big ice, fjords, wildlife or hiking, the Polar Regions offer a multitude experiences that are sure to make any visit there the trip of your lifetime.
