About Marthe Salamonsen
Descending from Kvens on her father’s side, Marthe grew up in Norway, cross-country skiing, fishing, enjoying family time around the bonfire, or at a cabin in the mountains. She is also an experienced horseback rider, loves hiking and is passionate about keeping an active lifestyle.
After finishing her studies at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo, the call of the wild had become so strong, she decided to move to Svalbard. What was supposed to be a 5-month adventure ended up being 4 years and counting.
When traveling, Marthe loves to stay active, have fun and learn something new. She has spent her vacations training Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand; doing jiu-jitsu in San Diego, California; and diving on Koh Lanta, Thailand. When not working, she can likely be found hiking in Svalbard, training at the shooting range, or climbing or lifting weights at her local gym.
Marthe is excited to use her love of the outdoors to help you make the most of your Antarctic adventure.
