About Craig Morton

History Presenter
You may also see Craig in the following role(s): Expedition Guide

Craig has travelled to many places around the world, but nowhere has fascinated him quite like the Polar Regions. As an Expedition Guide, he is motivated by the opportunity to facilitate and enhance other people's experiences in these special environments.

He is particularly passionate about the rich history of the Arctic and Antarctic. Reading Captain Robert Falcon Scott’s account of his ill-fated expedition to reach the South Pole (1910-1913) was the spark that ignited Craig’s fascination with these special areas. In addition, Craig is also enthralled by the majestic landscapes and seascapes, extreme weather, remoteness, and wildlife of these areas.

Craig has two Master’s degrees; the first in Environmental Studies from the University of Strathclyde, and the second in Ecosystem-based Management of Marine Systems from the University of St Andrews.

Scotland is Craig’s home and frequent outdoor playground. He particularly enjoys walking in Scotland’s beautiful mountain landscapes, but he is not a big fan of the midges (small but voracious biting insects.)
