Geologist & Glaciologist
Wolfgang has worked as a lecturer and travel guide since 2003; he’s been part of Quark Expeditions’ expedition team, in both the Arctic and Antarctic, since 2005. His fields of experience are geology, ethnography and a little bit of polar history. In the 1990s, he made some expedition-like voyages in Siberia, mainly studying the area’s indigenous people.
When not sailing, he keeps busy as a writer, journalist and lecturer. He also makes use of his knowledge of the indigenous people of the North by volunteering with human rights organizations. Wolfgang’s home is in Munich, Germany, famous for Oktoberfest.
