Beth Mercier

Travel and tourism have always been a part of my life as my father was a commercial airline pilot and I spent my early years traveling the world with him. Originally from Northern California and now residing in the Pacific Northwest, my love for trees and awe-inspiring nature have been a pillar of my life. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Event Management at CSU Chico while also Minoring in International Tourism while studying abroad along the Gold Coast in Australia. During my education, there was no doubt I was going to work in the travel industry; however it was still unclear as to which segment I would gravitate to. I spent years in the Hotel/Hospitality/Event Management industry which provided many great opportunities, but I yearned to travel and discover new places. 

Once I was introduced to expedition and adventure cruising, I became fascinated with viewing the world from a small ship. I worked for a travel agency specializing in small ship cruising before coming to Quark Expeditions. Through this experience, I realized my true calling. With a total of 10 expedition voyages now completed (of which 6 have been to the Polar regions) and over a decade of experience in in the expedition cruise industry, I feel honored and inspired to be able to encourage others to explore the world through this style of travel.
