Polar Travel Coordinator
Indian born and Argentine raised, I am a graduate of Humber College, with a diploma in Tourism Management. I joined Quark Expeditions in 2015 as an intern and started as Polar Travel Coordinator in 2017. As a sales support member, I ensure that all passengers have their documents (such as medical information, waivers, final documents and even visas, if required) ready before their departure.
What is one of your favorite memories of the polar regions?
I had the privilege of doing a 13-day Spitsbergen circumnavigation voyage in 2016, my first time in the Arctic. Something very magical happened during a beautiful sunny day: kayaking under the clear sky, with the water quiet, I stopped paddling, and all I could hear was the breeze, and with the view of tall mountains before me, I couldn’t help but think how insignificant we are when compared to Mother Nature.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from traveling?
Often when we travel, we are in such a rush that we forget how important it is to pause and take it all in, and to appreciate the people and their culture and make sure we are not disturbing their customs and violating their values. I’ve learned that it is very important to respect the people of the country we are visiting.
