Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica
This expedition was much more than excellent! Each day was very eventful, and always seemed to top the previous ones. The opportunities to explore the wildlife up close, history and scenery were innumerable and just outstanding! The very professional expedition staff clearly loved their jobs and their never-ending enthusiasm rubbed off on their clients. Ship's crew were also very professional and friendly.

Trip of a Lifetime
This trip was exceptional! Almost too difficult to put into words. We had the time of our lives and were treated so well by both the ship crew and the Quark Expedition Team. No questions about their skill and knowledge of the regions visited and the wildlife we saw. Thrilling! Learned so much as we travelled this vast lower region of the globe. Antartica was stunning, wonderful, quiet and majestic. Simply awesome!
The ship was great, comfortable for seafaring and the food was exceptional with such variety and availability. We really can’t say enough good things about this trip.
There is a reason Quark is indeed the leader in polar expeditions, they just do it better.

The right way to go on an epic adventure
If you are hoping to go and truly explore a part of this world that is rarely accessible but makes you feel as if you are a more part of this earth in an active way than ever before, then you want an experience with Quark. Our expedition was nothing short of perfect, with elements of adventure, comfort, and far too much delicious food. The small size of passengers and the large number incredibly vital and interesting expedition staff truly made this a life changing experience. It is surely worth considering the Falklands and South Georgia addition to a trip to Antarctica if you are hoping for intimate interactions with wildlife and a well rounded picture of the globe 60 degrees and below.

Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica February 2020
We have just returned from an exceptional tour with Quark. First of all, we were very lucky with the weather which didn’t restrict us at all. We had wildlife encounters of the kind shown in wildlife documentaries which no-one has the right to expect - leopard seals killing penguins, bubble-netting humpbacks, and up-close and personal whale and seal encounters. But beyond this, the organisation and staff were first class so we felt that whatever the conditions, we would have enjoyed our tour immensely. Many thanks to Solan and the expedition team, and to the crew of the Ocean Adventurer.

Outstanding in every respect.
It was the staff. The Quark expedition team were a very impressive group of people. Without exception, from the oldest to the youngest. Intelligent, highly educated, well trained and professional, they engaged with the passengers superbly at all times. The lectures and presentations were refreshingly educational, rather than simply entertaining, and aimed at an appropriate level for the passengers. The excursions were always well planned and executed smoothly. Although they were highly controlled and regulated by necessity, the team went to great lengths to ensure every passenger had the very best experience possible. When a medical evacuation was needed, they handled the situation flawlessly. It’s hard to imagine how they could be any more competent. As a passenger with a radio able to monitor staff communications, I witnessed only politeness, respect and efficiency. Never once did anyone slip up! Somebody inside Quark understands operations management and knows how to hire people. It shines through and adds exceptional quality to the entire expedition experience. My most sincere thanks to all the expedition staff, for being who they are, their hard work, and for making this such an outstanding trip of a lifetime for so many of us.

In spite of all the photos and stories from historian Justine (disclaimer - I am her mother!), I didn’t expect such an outstanding, informative, fascinating and just plain fun trip. It is the best trip I have ever done, bar none. I am impressed with the staff, the crew, the food, the itineraries, the calm and collected manner of Laurie with the medical evacuation situation, and the assortment of things we all got to do and see. The collection of guests were so interesting. Even on the last day there seemed to be a couple I’d never seen before. I did the sea kayaking option, which gives a whole extra level of connection to be able to be down on the water, in the quiet, essentially on your own with only penguins, icebergs and the occasional whale to interrupt your thoughts.
This trip has changed my outlook on life, my priorities and my sense of self. That’s pretty awesome, and I can’t thank all of you enough.

Great Expedition Team, excellent lectures
Great Expedition Team, excellent lectures of Fabrice and Jimmy; all the other lectures were also very interesting; excellent crew, customer oriented and on top of everything; and the leadership from Laurie was awesome.
The weather couldn't be better, it was a very valuable and unforgettable adventure for me.
I strongly recommend this journey with Quark, specifically this itinerary which includes the Falkland Islands (only place we could spot rockhopper penguin) and South Georgia (winter wildlife paradise with a surreal landscape).

Excellent work they did

This trip was two years in the planning and we were overjoyed with the entire journey, from the time we were picked up in Buenos Aires to the return, the organisation was thorough, every detail of arrival, luggage and embarkation was like clockwork. The Expedition Staff were exemplary, they wore so many "hats" from presenting outstanding lectures to loading and driving us on zodiac excursions, always with patience and a smile and a strong arm. Our kayaking guides were knowledgeable, fun and very good at keeping us safe. They also explained all procedures very well. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and were able to have many shore excursions, and when a landing was not possible due to weather conditions, another alternative was always found. We were kept very well informed at all times of what was happening and why. We loved our Expeditions Guides as they were so much fun. We also learned so much due to the amazing quality of our presentations obviously done by very well educated guides. Our Ornithologist, Sarah was outstanding, enthusiastic, so knowledgeable and so willing to share her knowledge. Jimmy, our whale expert was also a great presenter and Pauline, our Glacierologist was so informative. Laurie, the Expedition leader, well, we just could not figure out how she did her job and was still there to "catch" zodiacs at our landings. She was outstanding!
The opportunity to visit South Georgia Particularly was quite beyond what we expected. Wildlife and the opportunities to connect with it was such an amazing experience. One we will never forget. We loved our opportunities to "walk" up to Shackelton Falls and on the Faukland Islands.
Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly kept for us by our lovely housekeeping staff and the food was fabulous, lots of choice and lots of salad options, which I love, but also lots of fresh options, the dining area was relaxed and fun. We loved not having to sit at a specific table as we got the opportunity to move around and meet many interesting people. We will aspire to doing another Quark Expedition. Thank you for an amazing trip.

Once in a Lifetime Journey!
This was absolutely one of my favorite trips of all time. I travel quite a bit, but this was such a unique experience, and the expedition team was absolutely wonderful from all points, I doubt I will ever have such a fantastic experience again. The staff from top to bottom, initial booking to the last day's departure, were all super friendly, passionate, and informative. Every single day of this 3 week adventure was packed with education, fun, and new experiences. I wish I could fully express in words how incredible this was, but I think you'll have to see for yourself in person by booking ASAP to understand!
