About Katrina Pollard
Growing up on the east coast of New Zealand in a small beach community ignited Katrina’s love for the ocean and the great outdoors. From a young age, she was exposed to many water-based activities with her family, particularly water skiing. She experienced a real Kiwi upbringing, where technology was not used for entertainment. Being able to explore and play in nature, running wild and creating her own fun, laid the foundation for who she is today.
That thirst for adventure paved a future for Katrina in the outdoors. Her Bachelor of Education has led to her spending 10 years as an outdoor educator. A jack of all trades, with many interests in a range of pursuits, Katrina has traveled to and enjoyed recreational activities in some pretty spectacular parts of the world. She developed her passion for sea kayaking while working as a guide in the Marlborough Sounds. Ever since then, she has been hooked, always planning her next big trip!
Katrina takes pride in creating amazing experiences for people who are full of adventure and discovery, enabling them to connect with nature and have opportunities to learn and develop their skills. Antarctica is a fascinating place, rich in history and wildlife, and Katrina considers herself fortunate to guide in this remote region alongside amazing people. The White Continent’s dramatic, ever-changing landscapes will bring you back, time and time again.
