About Valerie Beauchamp Messier
Valerie was born and grew up in Eastern Canada. As far as she can remember, she has always been passionate about animals and marine life. In 2017, after finishing her bachelor’s in biology, she decided to make a living out of her passion. She than sold everything she owned and moved to Vancouver Island BC.
In 2018, she started to work as a deckhand and naturalist for a whale watching company. That’s when she realized how much she likes sharing her knowledge and educating the public about marine life and conservation. She quickly moved up to zodiac skipper by 2019 and she’s been the main captain, operating a 74-passenger vessel around the pristine Broughton Archipelago, north Vancouver Island since 2021.
She is excited to bring her skillset to a different part of the world and begin her adventure as a SUP and expedition guide in Antarctica.
When she is not at work, you can always find her near the ocean, paddleboarding, snorkeling or kitesurfing.
