Assistant Expedition Leader
Ali loves the world of polar adventures. Born in Australia, she grew up in various cities throughout the country and fondly remembers her first big adventure: traveling around Australia with her family for 6 months at the age of 9. Her love of travel intensified further when she was fortunate to experience her first around-the-world trip at age 12. These early life experiences shaped her perspective of the importance of family and the privilege of travel. She revels in the opportunity to combine her passion for conservation and the outdoors with Quark Expeditions guests.
Ali’s professional career in Australia provided further opportunities for travel and to develop her skills in leadership, management, communications and logistics. She has studied international relations at a post-graduate level and speaks Mandarin. She is an avid skier, scuba diver, cyclist and runner who enjoys spending time exploring the outdoors with her husband, nieces and nephews. When not in the Polar Regions, she volunteers on the executive board of the not-for-profit organization Multiple Sclerosis Limited. Ali would like to improve her Mandarin skills by spending more time in China and also further her international politics education in the dynamic area of Australian-Sino relations.
