Dr. John is an Emergency Physician from the state of Maine. He completed his medical training in Philadelphia and his Emergency Medicine residency in Pittsburgh, both in Pennsylvania.
Along with his current work in Maine, he has practiced in Hawaii and Pennsylvania, and has done international work in the Middle East.
Over the years he has spent time away from the hospital working aboard ships, ranging from larger vessels to smaller sail-based cruises. The polar regions have become a favourite of his, having sailed on Quark vessels in both the Arctic and Antarctica.
Apart from medicine, he tries to stay fit through hiking, skiing, and paddling in Maine and wherever else his travels may lead.
