Emergency Evacuation Insurance
An emergency evacuation insurance policy with a maximum benefit of $100,000 per paying passenger is included in the cost of your expedition, with the exception of the Antarctica Fly and Cruise program. The included policy provides coverage is only while traveling with Quark Expeditions, between the first and last day of the expedition. Any additional days of travel prior to the expedition and/or after the expedition are not covered by the included emergency evacuation insurance.

Medical, Cancellation and Baggage Insurance
As we venture to remote regions of the world, and our guests often travel great distances to join our expeditions, we advise all Quark Expeditions travelers to purchase medical, cancellation and baggage insurance, and additional emergency evacuation insurance.
Travelex, the company that provides our included emergency evacuation coverage, offers two different travel insurance packages.
Volcanic Eruption in Iceland - Eyjafjallajokull
[05.20.10 - Waterbury, VT] We have received inquiries from guests booked on our Arctic voyages about the impact of flight delays on their polar travel plans caused by volcanic ash eruptions. We believe our response is of value to all who are planning to visit the Arctic this summer, so we share it with you.
Protecting Your Polar Travel Investment
To assist you in protecting your travel investment, we have sourced a series of travel insurance policies through Travelex Insurance. Specifically, you are eligible to purchase coverage for any future travel issues that occur due to the volcanic eruption over glacier Eyjafjallajokull or any other unforeseen occurence. You will be protected should new eruptions occur to the same volcano or a neighboring volcano that cause travel disruptions, as well as any travel disruptions due to the current ash cloud produced by the volcano.
Travelex Insurance considers disruption due to ash clouds covered due to weather. A loss due to the physical eruption of a volcano will be considered a covered reason under natural disaster.

Why Invest in this Insurance
We remind you that according to our Terms and Conditions of Sale our cancellation policy states that clients who, for any reason, cancel their intended participation in a voyage 89 days or fewer prior to departure forfeit all tariffs paid. Complete details of the cancellation policy are available the Terms and Conditions of Sale as stated on the Quark Expeditions website and in our official brochures. Without the protection of the trip disruption insurance, your investment is lost.
