Rave Review
My wife and I are not ‘Cruise Ship Junkies’, almost always going our own way on a path less traveled and often without an itinerary or detailed plan (travel agents hate us). We’ve not done any cruises (beyond long ferry journeys) before. The Quark Antarctic voyage was a last-minute decision – our main reservations being cost and that we don’t like being ‘herded’, but there are few avenues for private individuals to access Antarctica so we ‘took the risk’ on Quark.
The trip was fabulous.
At times we asked one another what could be criticised. Tried to be objective.
I realise my comments could be taken as raving (or sponsored), but we can’t think of anything that could have been improved upon.
The cabin and hotel accommodation was excellent – very comfortable, clean, functional, well attended and attractive.
The zodiac excursions were well organised, safe and spectacular. The guides were well-informed, helpful, respectful, and often funny. We didn’t feel like we were being herded, rather it was easy to understand and comply with safety and organisational imperatives.
The route, locations visited, and adherence to Antarctic Treaty protocols were excellent.
The lectures were informative, appropriate, and well put together.
The meals were spectacular!!! And the dining room staff were excellent.
We felt the whole experience to be well worth the cost, and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

This was a wonderful trip, full of excitement and a lot of activities planned by the expectation team, and the voyage was just beautiful, scenic, beauty and great lifetime experiences we gathered on board

Antarctica: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience
Traveling to and from Antarctica was an adventure all by itself, but then actually being able to walk on the continent was a mind-blowing, once-in-a-lifetime experience and one that we will never forget. This, of course, was in large part due to the outstanding work and dedication of the entire Quark team. Every minute seemed to be filled with an opportunity to learn about and to explore the area with knowledgeable guides and lecturers. One critique that I have personally is that sometimes the lectures felt rushed; a lot could be said about slowing down a little in order to let a vast amount of information sink in before moving on to the next topic. That being said, we appreciated the effort the staff put behind trying to keep us informed about our unique surroundings and the animals that live there.
I especially would like to thank the cleaning staff, the servers, the waiters and the various other attendants who, quite literally, waited on us hand and foot. Their tireless efforts made this an adventure where we wanted for nothing and left us free to enjoy all that the location had to offer.

Top notch education, service, and hospitality
Quark guides are knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and engaging. They helped us have a wonderful Antarctic adventure. The entire crew and chefs also contributed to a delightful experience – the food was delicious. Shane’s concern for everyone’s well being created a warm friendly environment even during a rough Drake Passage crossing.

I loved every minute of the expedition
I loved every minute of the expedition! I should have taken the longer tour, but I was uncertain about what was in the horizon. I will definitely go back !
