Business Development Manager
I was born in British Columbia, but now call Toronto home. I have a passion for travel and this beautiful planet, just as much as I love making music and being an artist. I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in English Literature and Sociology from the University of British Columbia, where my school breaks consisted of singing in live shows and finding room for experiencing big trips like going to India, Guatemala, Japan and Ireland. I have been working for Quark Expeditions since 2008 and have now been to all seven continents. I am grateful to have had the privilege of traveling to the Arctic and Antarctic on more than one occasion. I strive to find deep connections, everywhere I turn, and truly believe that relationships are everything.
What is one of your favorite memories of the polar regions?
Only one?! I cannot choose. There are so many lifechanging memories on each trip: from being in the presence of colossal icebergs and mountain ranges, to a humpback calf swimming under my zodiac in Antarctica; to finding a deep sense of peace when an arctic fox felt safe enough to come out of its den and eat a few feet away from me. However, I will never forget being proposed to on the bow of the 50 Years of Victory under the midnight sun, while sailing to the North Pole in 2010!
What advice would you give someone traveling to the polar regions?
Always pack your sense of adventure! Expect the unexpected and take in many moments of silence and solitude in these remote locations.
