Ensuring guest safety—in addition to delivering an unforgettable polar experience—has been part of our DNA since Quark Expeditions’ inaugural voyage to the North Pole in 1991. Our commitment to guest satisfaction has never wavered in the last 30 years. In fact, it’s our top priority right now as we navigate these challenging times. We empathize with all of our guests whose polar expedition plans have been disrupted by the coronavirus crisis.
We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience as the current situation unfolds and changes daily. We’re facing uncertain times—but one thing is certain: Our commitment to you, our valued guest. That's why we’re offering a new flexible risk-free booking policy that has been established specifically to help our valued guests during these troubled times. And, on our part, Quark Expeditions’ solid financial position as a member of Travelopia—the world’s largest collection of specialist travel brands—and the backing of our owners KKR, the world’s third-largest private equity company, will allow us to weather this storm along with you.
The COVID-19 pandemic is unfolding at an unprecedented pace. It’s a global crisis that’s changing daily. The Quark Expeditions team is working 24/7 to stay on top of this challenging situation as it evolves and we’re doing everything we can to keep our guests informed.

What Will Quark Expeditions Do Differently on Future Voyages?
Our first priority is always the safety of all guests, staff and crew, and how we operate future voyages will reflect this. Already a leader in safety, we will continue to lead going forward. As we define ‘what we will do differently’ we will update our policies here. Traveling with confidence is top of mind for all travelers. Just as we’ve worked closely with the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators (AECO) in the Arctic, we will also work closely with the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO) to develop and implement the most effective strategies necessary to keep our Antarctic guests safe, including screening strategies (for guests and crew), enhanced ship- and gear-cleaning policies, equipment and behavior modifications.
