Hailing from tropical Magnetic Island on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, Jarryd is an award-winning travel photographer, writer, Sony Imaging Ambassador, and the founder of NOMADasaurus, one of the world’s largest travel blogs.
Jarryd has been traveling the globe full-time since 2007, working across all seven continents and more than 100 countries. His photography and storytelling focus on off-beat adventures, wildlife encounters, sustainable tourism, and immersive cultural experiences. Highlights include documenting remote tribes in the Pacific, overlanding across Asia for two years without taking a flight, mapping new hiking trails through the Stans, and joining the first expedition to reach the Lazarev emperor penguin colony in deep-field Antarctica.
Since 2017, Jarryd has guided and photographed in the polar regions, from the Antarctic Peninsula to Greenland’s icy fjords. His work has appeared in National Geographic, BBC, CNN, and Forbes, and he regularly collaborates with tourism boards, expedition companies, and camera and outdoor brands.
Passionate about connecting with people and sharing knowledge, he loves teaching photography as a way to deepen others’ travel experiences. When not on expedition, Jarryd runs photography and adventure tours in Central Asia and Africa, is an avid snowboarder, trekker, and scuba diver, and is currently planning his next adventure: driving his Toyota Land Cruiser Troop Carrier around the world.
