Adrian Boyle

Expedition Guide, Ornithology Presenter

While Adrian is keen on all wildlife, his main passion is birds. He started observing birds at an early age, having grown up in South Australia near the coastal Victorian border. Seabirds were at his doorstep before he moved to the sunny Kimberley town of Broome, Western Australia, to study migratory birds.

When not onboard expedition vessels, Adrian’s time is often spent studying birds in the Asian and Pacific regions. Through detailed field observations on behalf of the Global Flyway Network, he tracks individual birds from their wintering grounds in Australia to their breeding areas in the Arctic and back.

Adrian has guided on expedition vessels around the world but always returns to his favorite areas in the Polar Regions. As an avid photographer, he is rarely separated from his camera and is happy to provide information on how to capture memories during this journey of a lifetime. Whether on deck or in a lecture, he looks forward to informing you about the many birds we may encounter on this voyage.
