Frank is an adventurer, writer, and guide based on the west coast of British Columbia. Named “One of Canada’s 90 Greatest Explorers of all Time” by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, since 1995 he has undertaken extensive wilderness kayak, canoe, and ski expeditions that have covered thousands of kilometres through polar and other remote regions of our planet. His published books, articles, and films about his exploits aim to inspire and educate others about the wonders that abound on the earth’s fringes.
His long list of accomplishments includes the first single-season canoe expedition across Canada, rowing the Northwest Passage, skiing across Baffin Island, and completing the “triple crown” of British Columbia sea kayaking.
Frank’s advice to first-time adventure travelers is to soak it all in and strive to stay fully engaged in the amazing and unique experiences only found in our polar regions. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of our guests, and he loves to see the passion he feels for these places flame up in their eyes as the journey unfolds.
