Dave Henley

Assistant Mountain Guide, Expedition Guide

Born and bred in Aotearoa New Zealand, Dave Henley is a keen adventurer — a mountaineer, cross-continent cycle-tourist, and sailor — who puts trail running and yoga at the heart of his physical, mental, and spiritual health.

A qualified Alpine Trekking Mountain Guide (NZMGA), Alpine 1 Instructor (NZOIA), and Polar Guide Aspirant (PTGA), Dave has been guiding in the polar regions since 2024. He also enjoys skiing, surfing, paragliding, HIIT Pilates, rock climbing, and meditation.

Alongside guiding, Dave is a professional musician and sustainability researcher. He is currently studying toward a Master’s in Sustainability and Systems Thinking at Koitu: The Centre for Informed Futures at the University of Auckland.

He is a strong advocate of bringing an adventurous spirit to all that we do — including the sustainability challenges we face — and hopes to inspire others to discover their potential and the joy of exploration, whether in far-off lands or right here in our own backyard and daily lives.

He splits his time between Wanaka (South Island) & Auckland (North Island) – and has lived and journeyed extensively overseas.
